Maligaon, July 23 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate special train services between Katihar and Manihari under the Katihar Division to cater to the additional passenger rush during the forthcoming Shravani Mela. 

According to an NFR statement, the special services are aimed at ensuring convenient travel for devotees, pilgrims and other passengers visiting the annual fair.

Train No. 07540/07539 (Katihar-Manihari-Katihar) Shravani Mela Special will operate 22 trips in each direction. Train No. 07540 will leave Katihar at 7 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from July 25 to August 23, reaching Manihari at 7.45 pm.

On the return journey, Train No. 07539 will depart Manihari at 3.30 am every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from July 26 to August 24, arriving at Katihar at 4.15 am. The train will halt at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur stations en route.

Another pair, Train No. 07542/07541 (Katihar-Manihari-Katihar) Shravani Mela Special, will operate eight trips in each direction.

Train No. 07542 will depart Katihar at 8.30 pm every Monday and Thursday from July 27 to August 20 and reach Manihari at 9.15 pm.

In the return direction, Train No. 07541 will leave Manihari at 5.15 am every Tuesday and Friday from July 28 to August 21 and arrive at Katihar at 6 am, with scheduled stoppages at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur.

The NFR said the additional services have been introduced to enhance connectivity and ease passenger congestion during the Shravani Mela, while ensuring safe, convenient and efficient travel for pilgrims and other passengers.
