Guwahati, October 31 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) today celebrated the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel propagating his role in national integration to general masses through various measures of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) activities spreading throughout NFR.
As part of the activities, pledge was administered to all officers & staff of NFR HQ by Radhey Raman, Addl. General Manager, an NFR release informed.
A run for unity was also organised where officers, staff, sports person and volunteers of Scout & Guides also participated. In addition, quiz competition was also held on the topic “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his role on national integration” during the occasion while street plays were also organised to create awareness, it said.
Videos on the life and activities of Patel was prepared in various languages and shown through display system of important stations all over NFR, stated the release issued by NFR CPRO Subhanan Chanda.
A colourful cultural programme depicting “unity in diversity” was also performed by the staff of NFR HQ, it added.
