Guwahati, March 29 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned the Electronic Interlocking (EI) at Khotkhoti Station under Lumding division on March 28.
An official release informed that the RDSO approved EI will provide better flexibility in train operations and the whole work has been commissioned by taking disconnection and traffic block in the section.
The EI was done under first composite work of Signal & Telecom, Engineering and Electrical departments, whose works included construction of new RBG building and installation of new Optical Fibre Communication equipments.
Integrated Power Supply system was replaced with new one for reliable power supply for signalling equipments and Tokenless Block Instruments were replaced by Universal Fail Safe Block Interface in between Khotkhoti – Bokajan & Khotkhoti – Dimapur sections, the release added.
With the commissioning, the movement of trains over the route would eased up considerably resulting in improved punctuality of Mail/Express trains and speed of goods trains as well as ensure safe and seamless train operations in the section, it maintained.
