NFR improves freight transportation

Maligaon, September 28 (MExN): With a view to improve the freight transportation and providing better customer interface, NFR has taken several initiatives during the month of August, 2022. The initiatives include opening of stations for handling of both outward & inward goods traffic.

Bathnaha station under Katihar division has been opened for handling of iron and steel consignment (crane consignment) for two months w.e.f August 5. Earlier, it was opened for handling of both outward & inward goods traffic including coal traffic except POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment. 

Bhairabi station under Lumding division has been opened for handling of iron & steel consignment (crane consignment) w.e.f August 22. Earlier, it was opened for handling of both outward & inward of all goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment. 

Similarly, Kamalajari station under Lumding division has been opened for handling of iron & steel consignment (crane consignment) for another period of three months w.e.f August 22. Earlier it was opened for handling of both outward & inward of all goods traffic including coal except POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment.

NFR is developing goods shed under Public Private Partnership mode at many places like Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Raninagar Jalpaiguri, Changrabandha, New Cooch Behar etc. Gati Shakti terminals are also coming up at places like Balurghat, Deotala, Bathnaha etc, stated a press release issued by Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
