NFR introduces Hand Held Terminals

Maligaon, August 1 (MExN): As part of the ‘Digital India’ initiative, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced Hand Held Terminals (HHTs) in several trains to make onboard ticket checking easy, transparent and digitalized. 

NFR has provided a total of 185 HHTs to be implemented at several trains originating from five divisions of the zone. Out of 185 numbers, Katihar division was provided with 78, Alipurduar division with 24, Rangiya division with four, Lumding division with 57 and Tinsukia division with 22 HHTs were to be introduced in originating trains of the divisions.

A press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR stated that HHTs will be introduced to all the trains of NFR in a phased manner in the upcoming times. ‘Till now nearly 8000 passengers were checked using this digital method at several trains of N. F. Railway where HHT was introduced,’ he stated.
