MALIGAON, November 3 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched its month-long Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0, with camps held at New Tinsukia and Dibrugarh on November 2 to facilitate annual life certificate submission by railway pensioners and family pensioners.
According to a press release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, the camps were organised at the respective offices of the NFR Pensioners’ Association (NFRPA) and recorded an attendance of 52 pensioners, including 47 at New Tinsukia and five at Dibrugarh.
Digital Life Certificate details of 35 pensioners and family pensioners were successfully uploaded, while an additional camp has been scheduled at Dibrugarh on November 6 to assist those yet to complete the process.
The campaign is being conducted from November 1 to 30 in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare and the Railway Board.
It promotes digital submission of life certificates, particularly through Aadhaar-based face authentication, which allows pensioners to generate certificates using compatible smartphones without visiting banks or pension disbursing offices.
As part of the initiative, camps are being organised at NFR’s zonal and divisional headquarters, workshops and other locations with significant pensioner populations, in coordination with NFRPA, banks and concerned agencies, the release informed.
Special assistance is being extended to pensioners aged 80 years and above, as well as those facing illness or mobility constraints, including doorstep assistance where required.
NFR further encouraged eligible pensioners and family pensioners to avail themselves of the designated camps and assistance facilities to complete the process within the stipulated period.
