Maligaon, October 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday commenced Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, being observed from October 26 to November 1 on the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, even as General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava inaugurated a newly constructed “Lachit Borphukan” Sport Complex at the BG Colony area.
The sports complex, located near Sirisha Rail Udyan, features an archery training facility and a world-class synthetic athletics track aimed at providing a dedicated environment for structured training and helping athletes from the region hone their skills.
The vigilance observance was inaugurated by the Additional General Manager at the NFR Headquarters and by the Chief Administrative Officer-I/CON at the Construction premises, in the presence of senior officials and staff. The opening day's programme included an Integrity Pledge and walkathons to encourage ethical practices.
The week-long observance will feature street plays, the release of a Vigilance Bulletin and a workshop on “Preventive Vigilance in Contract Management” as part of NFR's preventive vigilance campaign.
Through these initiatives, the NFR said it seeks to promote integrity, discipline and dedication in both public service and sports.
