GUWAHATI, AUGUST 5 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has intensified its efforts to promote preventive healthcare by organising a series of health awareness programmes at Central Hospital, Maligaon, as part of its ongoing commitment to the well-being of employees, their families, and the general public.
The initiatives included the observance of ORS Day, Basic Life Support (BLS) training, and the launch of World Breastfeeding Week celebrations.

ORS Day was observed with the theme “Simple solution for a healthier future – sip smart, stay strong, say Yes to ORS.” Nursing students performed a street play to highlight the importance of Oral Rehydration Solution in preventing dehydration.
In collaboration with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and CPR eSanjeevani, a BLS training session was held, where 20 nurses were trained in life-saving emergency response techniques.
The hospital also launched World Breastfeeding Week under the theme “Invest in Breastfeeding, Invest in the Future,” with awareness talks and sessions promoting the health benefits of breastfeeding.
NFR has undertaken significant efforts to modernise its hospital infrastructure, including the installation of advanced diagnostic tools, operation theatres, and Intensive Care Units (ICUs), aimed at enhancing timely diagnosis and treatment.
These initiatives are part of NFR’s broader objective to foster a healthier future through preventive care, professional training, and community outreach.
