NFR promotes waste management under Swachhata Hi Seva-2025

MALIGAON, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has organised a series of activities across its divisions to promote cleanliness, recycling and sustainable practices as part of the ongoing “Swachhata Hi Seva-2025” campaign.

Railway stations, offices, hospitals, workshops and railway colonies witnessed enthusiastic participation from railway officials. At Guwahati Railway Station, a ‘Waste-to-Art’ exhibition and sale showcased innovative products crafted from recycled and upcycled materials, emphasising the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (RRR). The exhibition highlighted how discarded plastic and other reusable materials can be transformed into aesthetic and functional items.

Simultaneously, a “Sale of Recycled Product” activity was held at the Maligaon Colony Compost Plant, where compost manure produced from biodegradable waste was offered for sale to residents. The initiative aimed to promote awareness of composting and the benefits of converting household organic waste into manure for gardening and agriculture.

NFR has actively observed the campaign through cleanliness drives, awareness initiatives, distribution of eco-friendly items, and promotion of recycling, demonstrating its commitment to a cleaner and greener environment while encouraging collective responsibility among employees and the public.
