
Maligaon, August 24 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) recorded a 2.5 per cent growth in freight loading during July 2025, with the zone handling 0.936 million tonnes (MT) as against the same period in the previous fiscal.
According to NFR, cement loading rose by 191.3 per cent, coal by 200 per cent, fertilizer by 163.6 per cent and petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL) by 13.2 per cent compared to July last year. Stone chips also saw a significant increase of 150 per cent.
NFR said the steady growth in freight loading reflects increasing economic activity in the region and has significantly contributed to its revenue.
