Maligaon, August 25 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the NF Railway has apprehended one person in connection with the murder of a 45 year old woman at Kamakhya railway station, Assam.
A press release from the NFR informed that on August 16, at around 2:37 pm an unconscious body was of a woman was found lying near the toilet inside a coach of train No.15619 (Gaya-Kamakhya Express) when it arrived at Kamakhya station. After taking her to the nearest railway hospital she was declared brought dead.
Acting on this incident, a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) initiated an investigation and search operation. During investigation, it was noticed that the deceased person’s belongings like gold jewelry, mobile phone etc were missing.
The IMEI number of the missing mobile phone of the victim was put on alert and that is where the accused took the bait and was traced when he tried to use the phone just for a few minutes that was kept on live tracking, the NFR informed.
The photo of the new sim holder (suspect) was retrieved through SDR and social media and later information was gathered through local sources to confirm the details of the suspect. On August 24, the accused's live location was monitored and an ambush was laid by the joint team successfully apprehending the accused near Kamakhya Station.
