DIMAPUR, JUNE 30 (MExN): In response to increased passenger demand, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the continuation of several special train services with unchanged schedules. Starting July 2024, these services aim to accommodate travelers during peak periods without altering existing days of operation, timings, or stops.
The following special trains will operate as scheduled:
Agartala – Secunderabad Special (Train No. 07029/07030): Every Friday from July 5 to October 4, 2024, departing from Agartala to Secunderabad and returning every Monday from July 1 to September 30, 2024.
New Jalpaiguri – Howrah Special (Train No. 03028/03027): Every Thursday from July 4 to August 1, 2024, departing from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah and returning every Wednesday from July 3 to July 31, 2024.
Jagiroad – Sealdah Special (Train No. 03106/03105): Every Saturday from July 6 to July 27, 2024, departing from Jagiroad to Sealdah and returning every Friday from July 5 to July 26, 2024.
Additionally, due to scheduled Pre Non-Interlocking and Non-Interlocking works in the Gonda – Burhwal section of North Eastern Railway and at Andul station under Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railway, certain trains are being affected:
Cancelled Trains: Including Train No. 05656 (Guwahati – Jammu Tawi) Express and Train No. 04679 (Guwahati – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) special on July 1, 2024, and others.
Diverted Trains: Notably, Train No. 12508 (Silchar – Thiruvananthapuram Central) Express and others will be rerouted via alternative routes.
Rescheduled Trains: For instance, Train No. 15707 (Katihar – Amritsar) Express originally scheduled for July 3, 2024, has been rescheduled to depart at 13:30 hours instead of 10:45 hours.
These adjustments are aimed at ensuring minimal disruption to travel plans while essential maintenance and development works are carried out. Passengers are advised to check revised schedules and arrangements before planning their journeys during this period.
