Maligaon, October 10 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced four pairs of special trains to provide additional travel options during the Puja, Diwali and Chhath festival season.
The special trains will operate on the Narangi-Gorakhpur, Katihar-Sabaur, Firozpur Cantonment-Purnea and Bhagalpur-Katihar routes, connecting destinations across the Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh.
The services are aimed at strengthening connectivity between the Northeast and eastern and northern parts of the country, facilitating passengers travelling to their hometowns to celebrate the festivals with their families.
Train No. 05633 Narangi-Gorakhpur Weekly Festival Special will operate every Friday from October 16 to November 27, departing from Narangi at 8 pm and reaching Gorakhpur at 9.40 pm the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 05634 Gorakhpur-Narangi Weekly Festival Special will run every Sunday from October 18 to November 29. It will depart from Gorakhpur at 1.10 am and reach Narangi at 3 am on Monday. Both services will operate seven trips in each direction with 22 coaches.
Train No. 05782 Katihar-Sabaur Puja Special Intercity Express commenced operations on October 8 and will continue until November 30. It will depart from Katihar every Thursday, Sunday and Monday at 4.50 pm and reach Sabaur at 11 pm the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 05781 Sabaur-Katihar Puja Special Intercity Express commenced operations on October 9 and will continue until December 1. It will depart from Sabaur every Friday, Monday and Tuesday at 4.50 am and reach Katihar at 10.55 am the same day. Both services will operate 24 trips in each direction with 22 coaches.
Train No. 04634 Firozpur Cantonment-Purnea Festival Special Express commenced operations on October 8 and will continue until November 26. It will depart from Firozpur Cantonment every Thursday at 5.30 pm and reach Purnea at 3 am on Saturday.
In the return direction, Train No. 04633 Purnea-Firozpur Cantonment Festival Special Express will operate every Saturday from October 10 to November 28. It will depart from Purnea at 6 am and reach Firozpur Cantonment at 4.35 pm on Sunday. Both services will operate eight trips in each direction with 18 coaches.
Train No. 03409 Bhagalpur-Katihar Special commenced daily operations on October 7 and will continue until November 30. It will depart from Bhagalpur at 5.30 pm and reach Katihar at 11.10 pm the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 03410 Katihar-Bhagalpur Special commenced daily operations on October 8 and will continue until December 1. It will depart from Katihar at 6.35 am and reach Bhagalpur at 12.05 pm the same day. Both services will operate 55 trips in each direction.
