Kohima, March 26 (MExN): The National Health Mission (NHM), in collaboration with Swasthi – The Health Catalyst and its partners—The Entrepreneurs Association (tEA) and TATA AIG—on Thursday formally handed over a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) vehicle to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, following completion of a project in Zunheboto district.
The programme was held at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima on March 26.
The MMU and social protection services are currently being implemented in Kiphire district under a memorandum of understanding between the two parties and will be expanded to other districts in a phased manner.
Swasthi – The Health Catalyst has also provided blood bank equipment to the District Hospital, Mon, with plans to extend such support to other hospitals.
N Rambabu of Swasthi – The Health Catalyst, Bengaluru, presented an overview of MMU activities in Zunheboto and Kiphire, highlighting the operational model and its expected impact on improving outreach services. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to community health through strategic partnerships.
The programme concluded with the signing of documents and formal handover of the MMU vehicle in the presence of officials.
The newly inducted MMU is expected to enhance last-mile healthcare delivery in Zunheboto by providing essential medical services to remote areas.
