Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): Nihokhu Village emerged champions of the 3rd Under-15 Lt. Ghonito Memorial Football Trophy, organised by the Ato Area Sports Association (AASA), at Khehoyi Village.
The four-day tournament was held from July 20 to 23. T Honito Sema, President of BJP Mandal, 5th Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while Ashito Awomi, President of the NPF Sector Unit, 5th Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency, was the guest of honour.
Nikhekhu Village finished runners-up in the tournament. Tunakivi Achumi of Nihokhu was named Player of the Tournament.
Hinoto, Akivi and Gihuka of Hozukhe Village recorded hat-tricks during the competition, while Akivi and Gihuka also finished as the joint highest goal scorers.
Vikupu of Nikhekhu Village was adjudged Best Defender, while Kahevi Aye, also of Nikhekhu, received the Best Goalkeeper award.
