The Niuland Tokukujo Kükami Kuqhakulu (Niuland Area GBs Association) commemorated its 50th founding anniversary. Minister of PHED and Cooperation Jacob Zhimomi was the chief guest at the event held in Niuland town on December 16.
In his address, Zhimomi made a clarion call to the gaon buras (village headmen) of Niuland to lead by example and not remain indifferent to the public. He however lamented many GBs of late has allowed them to be distracted by the pursuit of luxury and comfort, while reminding that their bounden and sacred allegiance lies with public welfare. The Minister exhorted the GBs to strip away any air of superiority, and instead rise to meet the standards set by the legacy of the pioneers."
Asserting that Niuland is on the verge of becoming a bustling district driven by holistic development, Jacob urged the GBs to rededicate themselves to their vital role as the link between the administration and the people. As the Niuland Area GBs Association steps into its 51st year, Zhimomi expressed confidence that the Almighty God would lead and guide them.
