Niuland DC calls for intensified TB screening at district forum meeting

Niuland, May 26 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Niuland, TL Kiusumong Tikhir has directed the District Programme Officer (DPO) Communicable Diseases-II to intensify TB screening activities across the district.

Chairing meeting of the District TB Forum and District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) at the DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland, on May 26, he also urged the concerned officials to approach the district administration for any assistance and support required in addressing the challenges.

During the meeting, DPO CD-II, Dr Renchilo Ngullie, and DPO DISHA, Orenthung Ngullie, presented a comprehensive report on the status of tuberculosis (TB) and AIDS in the district.

The meeting deliberated on various challenges faced in implementing programmes, including logistics issues, shortage of equipment and manpower, and stigma associated with the diseases.

Members from DISHA, DPO CD-II, NGOs, and student leaders attended the meeting, informed the State DIPR.
