NMC releases second list of registered allopathic doctors

Kohima, May 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) has released the second list of all registered allopathic medical practitioners serving in the government sector or practicing in hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics registered under the Nagaland Health Care Establishment Authority, a statement said on Tuesday. The list has been made public for awareness, and it includes only those qualifications recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC), duly registered with the State Medical Council.

In a public notice, NMC Registrar Dr Kevilhulie Meyase cautioned proprietors of private hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics to employ only registered medical practitioners. As mandated under the National Medical Commission Act 2019 and the Nagaland Medical Council Act 2014, only registered medical practitioners can serve or practice modern medicine, the notice reiterated.

The NMC also reminded all serving and practicing allopathic doctors that they must renew their registration every five years.
