NMDA laud police

DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA and the business community of Dimapur have lauded all rank and file of Dimapur police “for re-apprehending two extortionists who were out on bail and resorted to the same activities again.”  A press release from the NMDA, appended by its president Ato Yepthomi and general secretary Basu Damani received here stated.
The release stated that the action should work as an “eye opener to the Judiciary that how the business community and the society is suffering because of the loop holed faults of the Judiciary while the police is struggling ‘tooth and nail’ to apprehend the culprits. This system only encourages the menace of extortion and other elated crimes.”
It mentioned the recent arrest of three extortionists by the police, who yet were later released on bail by the court. “Such acts of Judiciary only puts fear psychosis especially in the minds of business community.” It also welcomed the decision of the Nagaland government which sought clarification from the Government of India to make clear which factions are in ceasefire with the GoI “and what should be the nature of the collection/voluntary donations etc.”
Applauding the police for their efforts, the NMDA at the same time appealed that the culprits should be booked under ‘non bailable sections of the law’, lest the criminals are further encouraged to commit the same crimes without the fear of the law.
