Dispels apprehension over the increase in number of foreigners in Nagaland's COVID-19 daily status report

The State Government has clarified on Friday that no new foreigners entered Nagaland and the increased of the number of such cohort in the Nagaland’s COVID-19 status update due to new data from various sources.
The clarification came amid the apprehension expressed from some quarters regarding the increase in number of foreigners in the state after March 31.
Till March 31, the number stood at 5 but it increased to 10 on April 1. As per the latest figure released on April 2, the ‘number of foreigners present in the state’ were 20, a jump by 100%, since March 31.
In a clarification on Twitter, MyGovNagaland, citing the State Health and Family Welfare Department stated that “No new foreigners entered Nagaland.”
“But the number of foreigners in the State increased from March 31 to April 2, 2020 due to inclusion of surveillance information from airport, MOHFW, and self reporting which were not captured before,” it said.
It further informed that the Department surveillance data “began from last week of January whereas the other sources have data from before that time. There are some names which are not traceable, but there are no new travellers entering Nagaland.”
The clarification, however, did not specify since when there was no new travellers entering Nagaland.
