Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): Following a meeting between the District Administration, the Dimapur Municipal Council and wholesalers in the Dimapur district, Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi, IAS, issued a notification seeking to allay fears among the public with regard to shortage of essential commodities in markets across the district.

There is no shortage of essential commodities in the market and therefore the general public is advised not to resort to panic buying, the notification stated.

The DC also addressed the spread of fake messages/rumors on various social media platforms which has been causing panic in the minds of the people. “Any person found creating/sharing unauthenticated messages/rumors will be booked and action will be initiated as per appropriate sections of law,” he warned.
