Wokha, May 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) organised a one-day campaign programme on ‘Environmental Awareness’ on May 12 at Regimental School, DEF Wokha, with the objective of instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment, focusing on air quality, waste management and sustainable living.
The programme began with a welcome address by Richard Patton, Teacher In-charge, followed by sessions led by three resource persons, Akangmeren Imchen (Scientist C), Limitsa Sangtam (Scientist B), and Nikato Swu (Junior Environmental Engineer).
Students engaged in discussions on reducing plastic use, conserving energy, and focusing on air quality, waste management, and sustainable mission life. The resource persons encouraged the students to be vigilant and to play the role of life changers in keeping the environment clean and free from pollution.
The students were encouraged to become “green ambassadors” and were inspired to take active steps toward a cleaner, healthier environment.
