KOHIMA, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Wednesday announced the cancellation of the scheduled public rally of Indian National Congress (INC) President and Member of Parliament Mallikarjun Kharge.
The rally, originally planned at NSF Solidarity Park in Kohima on October 7 had been postponed indefinitely due to unforeseen health issues of Kharge. The NPCC said the cancellation follows continued medical advice from his treating team.
In a statement, the NPCC expressed regret and extended apologies to Congress workers and the people of Nagaland who had been looking forward to the event.
A new date for Kharge’s visit will be announced once the All India Congress Committee (AICC) communicates a rescheduled programme, the statement added. The NPCC thanked the public for their understanding and patience, and wished Kharge a speedy and complete recovery.
