DIMAPUR, MARCH 8 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president S. Supongmeren Jamir has been nominated as Congress candidate to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in the state. Jamir was included in the first list of 39 candidates for the forthcoming LS election announced by the Central Election Committee of the Congress on Friday. From the list, the Congress is fielding 16 candidates from Kerala, 7 from Karnataka, 6 from Chhattisgarh, 4 from Telangana, 2 from Meghalaya, and one each from Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The list includes high profile names like former Congress president Rahul Gandhi who will contest from Wayanad, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to contest from Rajnandgaon, party general secretary KC Venugopal from Alappuzha and Dr Sashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram.
