Kohima, November 10 (MExN): The Naga People's Front (NPF) held an oath-taking ceremony for the party’s office bearers at the Central Office in Kohima on November 10.
Addressing the ceremony, NPF Secretary General & MLA Achumbemo Kikon emphasized the party's consistent pursuit of resolving the issue through peaceful means, as envisioned by its pioneers.
“We believe in resolving the Naga political issue through peaceful means, which is honourable, acceptable, and inclusive. We will consistently continue to pursue a negotiated settlement,” stated the update received here.
Kikon stated that the party emphasizes the importance of discipline, unity, and hard work among its members and added that it will take action against those who fail to adhere to these principles.
He further stated that the NPF prioritises programmes that benefit the people and villages and informed that the party will continue to work towards the development of Nagaland.
Kikon asserted that the NPF is dedicated to its ideology and philosophy, and will continue to work towards the betterment of the Naga people.
‘The party has initiated programs such as the Village Development Board and Local Area Development Program, which have benefited the people and villages,’ Kikon stated.
He expressed his happiness to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for navigating the process of two regional political parties coming together to work for the Naga people.
Sano Vamuzo, President of the Central Women's Wing, urged party workers to perform their duties wholeheartedly, sincerely, and faithfully.
Vamuzo emphasised that politics is not dirty and that leaders should work for the people, not for vested interests.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Pusazo Luruo, Working President.
The programme was chaired by Benjamin Lorin, Vice President, and included an invocation prayer by S Akho Leyri, Vice President, and a vote of thanks by Imchatoba Imchen, President of the Central Youth Wing.
