The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Wokha Division conducted an Assembly Constituency (AC) tour at the VDB Hall, Wokha, on March 24, with an emphasis on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and enhancing organisational growth.
The morning session was held for 37 Tuyi AC, where party workers of the division and central leaders interacted with constituency members.
During the session, President of NPF Wokha Women Division, Yanchi K Khuvung, extended greetings and underscored the importance of unity among party workers. She urged members not to be discouraged by the absence of elected representatives from their constituencies but to remain motivated and work collectively for the progress of the party. She also called for strengthening women’s wings across all constituencies in Wokha district.
Vice President of the Central Women’s Wing, Ekonlumi, conveyed greetings on behalf of the central organisation and highlighted the importance of seniority and loyalty in party functioning. She further emphasised adherence to party protocol for smooth operations.
CEC member, Chobhathung Odyuo, reflected on the history of the NPF’s formation under Kevichusa, describing it as an “anointed party” guided by faith. He appealed to leaders to demonstrate care and concern towards party workers.
Senior Vice President, Tsumongo Ovung, expressed the need to initiate more activities to foster unity and progress within the party. Vice President COB, John Ezung, stated that the formation of a unified NPF was aimed at strengthening the collective voice in expediting the Naga political solution and integration.
Vice President, Achamo Kikon, and General Secretary of the Central Youth Wing, Lawrence Ovung, also addressed the gathering.
The afternoon session covered the 38 Wokha Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the gathering, NPF Wokha Division President, Meribemo Kinghen, described 38 AC as the backbone of the district and stressed the need for it to remain strong and active. He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections and urged party workers to stay committed towards strengthening the organisation.
Vice President of the Central Women’s Wing, Grace Murry, emphasised the importance of working for the welfare of the people rather than personal gain. She noted that the party continues to enjoy public trust and encouraged members to remain dedicated to service.
Janbemo Humtsoe, member of the Social Media Cell (COB), called for unity and trust among party workers, stressing the need to maintain healthy relationships within the party and to uphold honesty by refraining from making false promises.
Zuthungbeni Humtsoe highlighted the role of youth in driving change and encouraged young members to effectively utilise digital platforms to explore opportunities and contribute to the party’s growth.
General Secretary of the Farmers’ Wing (Central), Elansao Kikon, spoke on the welfare of farmers and stressed the need to strengthen ties between the farming community and the party.
Earlier, President of 38 AC, Yanphamo Tungoe, delivered the welcome address and presented the report. Secretary COB, Ezanbemo Erui, and Senior Vice President COB, Tsumongo Ovung, also addressed the programme.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Youth President of 38 AC, N Rhonthungo Kithan, while the programme was chaired by General Secretary of 38 AC, Thungchibemo Humtsoe.
