Resource persons and others during a State Level Seminar on “Empowering Women in Politics and Leadership” in Kohima on July 10.
Kohima, July 12 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Women Wing organized a State Level Seminar on “Empowering Women in Politics and Leadership” on July 10 at the NPF Central Headquarters, Kohima.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from women leaders representing all 60 Assembly Constituencies, along with Divisional Women Wing Presidents and General Secretaries from across Nagaland.
1st Session of the Seminar focused on themes of political empowerment and leadership. The topics covered included “Women Education, "Her Seat, Her Say: Building a Democracy that Makes a Better Nagaland", "From Advocacy to Action: Driving Change through Political Literacy", "The Audacity to Rise: Overcoming Fear and Claiming Your Seat at the Table",_ and _"Safe Spaces, Strong Voices: Navigating Politics as a Woman."
The Resource Persons for the first session included; Sano Vamuzo, President, NPC CWW, Ahovi Zhimomi, Working President, COB, Tongpang Ozukum, MLA & Advisor, Water Resources, GoN, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA & Advisor, Science & Technology, GoN, T.R. Zeliang, Deputy Chief Minister, Planning & Transformation, National Highways, GoN.
The 2nd Session highlighted women’s welfare, health, economy, and sustainable livelihood. The topics deliberated included; " Her Health First: Because a Healthy Woman Builds a Healthy Home," "Navigating the System: Empowering Women to Access and Reform Public Welfare", "Financial Freedom for Every Woman",_ and _"Rooted in Resilience: Organic Farming, Seed Saving, and Sustainable Living."
Resource Persons for the second session included; Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor to Chief Minister & Vice President, COB, In-charge CWW, Wangpang Konyak, MLA & Advisor, Social Welfare, GoN, Legislature In-charge CWW, Hekani Jakhalu, MLA & Advisor, Industries & Commerce, GoN, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, GoN.
The program concluded with a collective resolve to continue working towards greater representation of women in politics and leadership.
