Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): The Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) strongly condemns the rape and murder of a minor girl, Vasmi Khaleng. A note issued by the Press Liaison of NPMHR (S) stated: “We urge the concerned authorities/agencies to effectively investigate and dispense justice at the soonest”.
NPMHR also stated that it strongly condemns the media (print and electronic) that used the brutal images of the victim from the crime scene. “This is against the ethics and practices of responsible reporting. We urge the media to respect the dignity and privacy of the deceased and her family,” it stated.
