NPRAAF demands RD dept show expense statement on utilization of PMAY-G fund

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) has demanded that the Rural Department (RD) Department explain to the people of Nagaland the expenditure statement of the 1st installment of central assistance for program against annual financial allocation for financial year (FY) 2023 - 24 to the state of Nagaland under PMAY-G dated July 24, 2023.  

A press statement received from the Forum said the central government had released a sum of Rs 120,34,70,000 (Rs one hundred twenty crore thirty four lakh and seventy thousand only) as grant-in-aid amounted to the RD department. 

It also demanded that the department provide photographic evidence of house construction within the framework laid for implementation of PMAY-G which stated that, “there should be no deviation from the provision of the framework for implementation of PMAY-G is permissible.” It further demanded that the department lay in public domain, the detailed expenditure incurred district wise and block wise in break up. 

The Forum, meanwhile, informed that it will further bring in public domain other funds sanctioned from the central government to the RD Department, Government of Nagaland in the greater interest of transparency and accountability.

It also decided that NPRAAF will initiate appropriate action against the department and will ensure that fund sanctioned from the central government is properly accounted for without misappropriation.
