Shillong, August 7 (MExN): The National People's Women Front (NPWF) convened its State Presidential Meeting in Shillong on August 7 with a focus on strengthening women’s leadership and consolidating organisational structures at the grassroots level.
The meeting at Shiliiong’s PineWood Hotel brought together NPWF leaders from across Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, including state presidents and core committee members, informed a press release from the Front.
Presided over by NPWF National President Aneii Khaming, the meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing initiatives, deliberated on key challenges, and laid out future strategies to build a disciplined and inclusive women’s front, it said.
In her keynote address, Khaming underlined the importance of empowering women across political and community spheres and called for collective efforts to ensure that the NPWF becomes a strong and representative platform for women’s voices.
Several resolutions were adopted during the meeting, including strengthening district and block-level units, expanding outreach initiatives, and promoting welfare schemes targeted at women, the release said.
Expressing appreciation for the members’ commitment, the NPWF chief urged all state and district-level leaders to work in close coordination to uphold the organisation’s core mission, it added.
