Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The NSCN (I-M) on Monday issued an order directing that no “national worker” shall involve or interfere in the Koridang by-election under Mokokchung district, Nagaland.
The directive, issued by the competent authority, stated that any violation of the order would invite penal action as per the AZHA.
In a separate clarification, the GPRN addressed recent defections of some of its members to the Naga National Council/FGN group. It stated that the organisation had extended an “olive branch” to home-comers from various factions in good faith for inclusive service towards the Naga cause. However, it alleged that a few “habitual defectors” had left for personal gains despite such efforts.
The GPRN also clarified the ranks of certain individuals, stating that their positions were limited to those accorded by the organisation and not as claimed in media reports. Those listed include Khutovi Awomi, Atovi Chishi, Akito Achumi, Kughalu Achumi, Kakheto Zhimo and Semato Awomi, all home-comer on April 8, 2025, and all inducted as members of the Steering Committee except Semato Awomi who was inducted as Leacy.
Further, the organisation stated that Akahoto Awomi and Mughalu Aye, who have described themselves as “Tatar,” are not members of the GPRN. It cautioned both individuals against misusing or impersonating the organisation’s name in future.
