Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) on July 6 said an internal inquiry committee had rejected allegations levelled by its expelled member Kavishe Zhimo against the group's leadership, terming them "false, fabricated and without locus standi.”
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the outfit said an emergency meeting was held in Dimapur on June 18 under the chairmanship of Kilo (Home) Kilonser Carlus Kughato Zhimo to examine the allegations made by the suspended ACL member.
The meeting constituted an inquiry committee headed by senior Kilonser Lhoughoto Chishi, Kilonser Vetokhu Chophy and Kilonser Kaiyong Konyak as members and Ahovi Chishi as secretary.
According to the statement, the committee submitted its report on July 6, rejecting all allegations made by Kavishe Zhimo. It alleged that the claims were made with "malicious intention" against the party leadership and stemmed from frustration following his suspension for "anti-party activities".
The organisation further alleged that its examination of Kavishe Zhimo's service records revealed several discrepancies during his tenure in various positions within the government.
It claimed that his assertion of participating in the group's first ceasefire agreement was incorrect, stating that the NSCN/GPRN (R) entered into a formal ceasefire on April 27, 2015, while Kavishe Zhimo enrolled with the organisation on October 16, 2015.
The outfit also alleged financial mismanagement during his tenure as revenue in-charge in Dimapur district beginning April 8, 2016, claiming that government funds amounting to about Rs 25 lakh were misused during that period. It further alleged that around Rs 12 lakh was misused while he served as Kilo (Home) Kilonser and convenor of the Crime Control Cell.
The statement also alleged that Kavishe Zhimo had made at least three unsuccessful attempts to defect to other Naga political groups under the pseudonym "James Zhimo" in 2019, 2021 and 2025.
It further alleged that although the collective leadership was aware of his alleged misconduct, he was reappointed as Kilo (Home) Kilonser and, by virtue of the post, also served as convenor of the Crime Control Cell. However, the outfit claimed he failed to submit revenue generated by the Crime Control Cell and instead used the money to construct a personal building at Thilixu Village Block IV in Dimapur.
The organisation also accused him of conducting smear campaigns against party workers and senior colleagues for financial gain and alleged that he was planning to float a new political party while continuing to enjoy benefits as an ACL member.
According to the statement, these developments led to his suspension and subsequent expulsion from both the active and primary membership of the organisation.
The outfit directed Kavishe Zhimo to surrender all government properties in his possession to the Town Command, Dimapur, within five days from the publication of the statement, warning that failure to comply would invite "necessary punitive action".
In the statement, the NSCN/GPRN (R) also criticised Kavishe Zhimo, accusing him of tarnishing the Naga political movement and asserted that it would not issue any further statements on the matter.
