NU students want experienced administrator, academician for VC

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): Nagaland University students want a vice chancellor who is both an administrator and an academician, and one with experience as a vice chancellor.
A note from the Post Graduate Students of the university’s Lumami campus said today that the students want a person who has the caliber of both administrator and as an academician.
‘If a tribal vice chancellor is appointed, than tribalism would become the main problem that the university has to deal with rather than its developmental work,’ the PGSU stated.
Calling against tribalism, regionalism and favoritism, the union said they students want a person who already has experience as vice chancellor to be appointed the chief of Nagaland University, on August 2.
The PGSU also appealed to the governor of Nagaland to hear the students’ appeals and “necessitate the students’ grievances.”
