Mon, March 19 (MExN): The Officers’ Club Mon (OCM) on Thursday organised the 12th Inter-Departmental Tournament 2026 at Officers’ Club Mon and Neilkeak Futsal ground, Tammong.
The three-day tournament, which began on March 19, will conclude on March 21.
Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, graced the opening ceremony as the special guest and declared the tournament open.
Addressing participants, he said the event was not just about winning but about fostering connections, strengthening friendships and encouraging interaction among officials. He emphasised the importance of sports and recreation in balancing professional responsibilities and maintaining mental well-being.
He also encouraged young officials to actively participate in club activities and utilise available facilities.
The players’ oath was administered by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pakon Phom, while the programme was chaired by Manyei Kuhmeishu N, Assistant Professor of Wangkhao Government College.
An invocation was offered by Pumin Konyak, Associate Pastor of Chingai Fellowship, while a welcome address was delivered by T Yanlem, District Welfare Officer, Mon.
Special performances were presented by H Samuel Konyak and Mary and Friends during the programme.
