‘One Station One Product’ expands coverage to 112 railway stations in NE

MALIGAON, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has expanded the coverage of the Ministry of Railways’ ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) initiative to 112 stations, marking a significant step toward promoting local artisans and entrepreneurs across the region.

As of October 2025, a total of 135 functional OSOP units are operational across these 112 stations under NFR. The initiative provides a platform for local producers to showcase and sell indigenous products at railway stations, in keeping with the government’s ‘Vocal for Local’ vision.

Division-wise, OSOP outlets are functional at 12 stations under the Alipurduar Division, 23 under Katihar Division, 32 under Lumding Division, 20 under Rangiya Division, and 25 under Tinsukia Division.

In terms of geographical distribution, the OSOP scheme now covers 71 stations in Assam, 26 in West Bengal, 8 in Bihar, 4 in Tripura, 2 in Arunachal Pradesh, and 1 in Nagaland. The initiative has provided a boost to local crafts, traditional products, and self-employment opportunities across the Northeast.

In addition to OSOP, NFR is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) scheme to ensure the availability of quality generic medicines at affordable prices for passengers and local residents. Five PMBJK units are currently operational at Katihar, Badarpur, Agartala, New Tinsukia, and New Cooch Behar stations.
