DIMAPUR, MARCH 2 (MExN): The 3rd Online Khelo India Centre Nagaland Shooting Championship 2025 concluded on February 28, showcasing young shooting talent from across the state. The competition was held at Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy in Dimapur and Ladybird School Shooting Academy in Mokokchung from February 25 to 28.
The event featured multiple age categories in both air rifle and air pistol events, with participants competing for top honors. In the 10m Air Rifle Bench Rest Men Individual category, Jotham Gurung (9) of Ladybird School Shooting Academy (LBSSA) claimed the gold, while Japika Zhimomi (9) of Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy (ARAPSA) took silver, and Jamidong Jamir (11) of ARAPSA secured bronze.
Mulongnenla Achem (10) of LBSSA won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Bench Rest Women Individual category, followed by Bendangyangla Tzudir (12) of LBSSA, who earned silver. Ayeka Aye (12) of ARAPSA clinched gold in the 10m Air Rifle Sub Youth ‘A’ Men Individual event, while Wangshikokba Longkumer (13) of LBSSA took silver.
In the 10m Air Rifle Youth Men Individual event, Merentsungba (19) of LBSSA won gold, while in the 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event, Lanusenla Longchar (42) of ARAPSA emerged victorious. In the ISSF categories, Rongsennangshi Longchar (13) of LBSSA and Yimyakumla (15) of ARAPSA won gold in their respective divisions.
The air pistol events also saw strong performances. In the 10m Air Pistol Bench Rest Men Individual category, Imnachanger Aier (11) of LBSSA secured gold, while Jongshilong Aier (8) of LBSSA took silver. Zidong Gurung (13) of LBSSA won gold in the 10m Air Pistol Sub Youth ‘A’ Men Individual category, with Chubasunep Ozukum (13) and Yimtashir Pongen (11), both from LBSSA, securing silver and bronze, respectively.
M Tiatemjen Jamir (44) of ARAPSA won gold in the 10m Air Pistol Men Individual event, while Chandan Kumar (32) of ARAPSA took silver. In the 10m Air Pistol Master Men Individual category, Vikuo Metha (58) of ARAPSA claimed gold, while Lanu Rongsenkaba Jamir (48) won in the ISSF ‘B’ division.
The championship, overseen by ISSF Judge and Coach Merang Jamir, aimed to promote shooting sports among young athletes under the Khelo India initiative.
