Opposition against CAA has not ended: Meghalaya orgs

 Four pressure groups in Meghalaya informed on Sunday that the opposition against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has not ended in Meghalaya.

 

“The opposition to the CAA and the demand for the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) n Meghalaya has not ended,” leaders of the Hynñiewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Hynñiewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM), West Khasi Students’ Union (WKSU) and Western Youth Federation (WYF) in West Khasi Hills district said.

 

They have also urged the people to continue lending them support as they continue taking up these issues till their logical end.

 

Meanwhile, the four pressure groups have also expressed their gratitude to the people in general for extending support to them in their fight on these two issues.

 

“We also thank the MLAs of West Khasi Hills who have extended their full support to the demand for the implementation of the ILP in Meghalaya during the special session of the State Assembly which was held on December 19 last,” the groups added.
