Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): Several community organisations in Dimapur have strongly condemned the alleged repeated sexual exploitation, physical assault and drug-induced abuse of a minor student by a resident of Lengrijan Colony, Dimapur.
In separate statements issued on May 27, the Chang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD), the Changsao Thangjam Dimapur (CTD) and the Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) expressed deep outrage over the incident and demanded immediate, strict legal action against the accused.
According to the organisations, the matter first came to light on May 23, 2026. The accused, a resident of Lengrijan Colony, allegedly targeted the underage student on multiple occasions.
The Chang bodies stated that the accused reportedly used a firearm to threaten the minor and administered drugs to render her defenseless before committing the assault.
The organisations highlighted that the repeated cycle of violence and exploitation has left the young student in a state of severe physical and psychological trauma.
“This is a heinous crime that violates basic fundamental rights and is completely unacceptable in any civilized society. Such a cowardly action is an attack on the peace and security of our entire community,” the CSUD statement read.
The CTD called the act inhumane, stating that the accuser’s actions stem from depraved criminal desires. They urged right-thinking citizens to stand united against such exploitation.
Demanding accountability, the CUD appealed to law enforcement agencies to book the accused under relevant legal provisions to ensure justice.
The organisations collectively called for a fair, prompt, and thorough investigation, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger preventive measures and stricter mechanisms to safeguard children from abuse.
