Over 1.14 lakh Ayushman cards in Nagaland not linked with Aadhaar

More than 1.14 lakh Ayushman Card records in Nagaland are yet to be linked with Aadhaar, the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) has informed, urging beneficiaries to verify their linkage status and complete the process by November 30.

This is based on analysis of Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) portal.

According to the NHPS, during the initial implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), from 2018 to September 2022, Ayushman Cards could be generated without Aadhaar linkage for beneficiaries covered under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) data sources. 

The 1.14 lakh unlinked beneficiaries relate to cards generated during this period, it stated.

However, due beneficiary mapping exercise being implemented through the National Health Authority (NHA) IT platform, Aadhaar linkage with Ayushman Cards has subsequently been made mandatory, it added.  Aadhaar linkage is also mandatory to avail AB PM-JAY benefits at empanelled hospitals.

In this connection, the NHPS informed all Ayushman Card holders whose cards were generated between 2018 and September 2022 to check their Aadhaar linkage status and complete the linkage through the Card Generation (BIS) portal if required.

The Aadhaar linkage can be completed through the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Common Service Centres (CSCs), Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), card vendor agencies, or any empanelled PM-JAY hospital, it added. 

The NHPS has set November 30, 2026 as the deadline for completing Aadhaar linkage.

An Office Memorandum issued by the NHPS has cautioned that failure to complete the linkage within the stipulated period may result in the Ayushman Card being disabled, the State DIPR reported. 

In such cases, the concerned beneficiary may subsequently be required to undergo fresh e-KYC through the BIS portal, it added.

According to the beneficiary list made available by the NHPS, the pending records total 114,567, with the largest number in Mon (18,461), followed by Dimapur (15,995), Phek (15,216), Zunheboto (14,207), Tuensang (12,285), Mokokchung (9,008), Wokha (8,207), Peren (7,871), Longleng (7,323), Kohima (3,614) and Kiphire (2,362)

The list also includes 13 records from Chümoukedima and two from Noklak, and one each from Meluri and Shamator. Incidentally, one person was listed from Agra.
