Zunheboto, March 26 (MExN): The inaugural programme of “Providing Access to Core Employability Skills” (PACES), a seven-day training course comprising 50 instructional hours, was held at DB’s Hall, Atoizu, on March 25.
The initiative is organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with Pragatisheel Vision Foundation, to strengthen employability competencies among local youth.
Extra Assistant Commissioner, Atoizu, Dr Samuel Akho Konyak, NCS, in his welcome address, highlighted the challenge of unemployment and said a college degree alone is insufficient for securing sustainable livelihoods. He stressed the need for practical skills for self-employment and opportunities in the private sector.
Chumbemo Jerret Patton, Managing Director of Pragatisheel Vision Foundation, presented an overview of the training framework, outlining key components of the PACES initiative and expressing optimism about its impact.
STL president, Atoizu, Tozheli S, also addressed the gathering and encouraged youth to actively participate in such skill development programmes.
