Paddy harvest festival at Lumami village

Zunheboto, September 15 (DIPR): A paddy harvest festival was celebrated on September 14 at Lumami village, organized by the District Cultural Association (DCA) Zunheboto.   
Speaking on the occasion, president of DCA, Sukato Rotokha said that the aim of organizing this programme is to video graph the Sumi culture of harvest and celebration, which is diminishing.
He said that the video would be preserved in the Institution, University library and web sites for educating the upcoming generation about Sumi culture. He also said the same would made available in CD’s for the public. He thanked GB Lumami Village Howoto for hosting the programme.
The items carried out in the occasion were Ghile Qhesho, Aqha Pukuxu and Athi kikishi preformed by Lumami villagers.
Earlier, welcome speech was delivered by GB, Howoto Kimimi and the programme was presided over by Kiyelu Sumi. MLA Kheto was also present at the occasion.
