Put greater effort to promote Tenyidie: Kesiezie

A three-day long 56th Annual Seminar of Ura Academy commenced today in Kohima under the theme “U Dieu Cha Kedze”(Paving language progression).
The seminar, which will continue till May 29, will be marked by literary discussions, cultural events and presentation of academic award.
Exhorting the gathering, Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie, Treasurer, Ura Academy, stressed on the need to put greater effort and commitment for promotion of Tenyidie, which embodies the cultural identity and brotherhood of the Tenyimia people.
He urged upon parents to teach the language at home to ensure its survival for future generations.
A new book for Class 9 on Tenyidie was released by Asano Sekhose, Adviser Ura Academy Textbook Division.
Special appearance was made by Ato Nienu while Ülikhri and Colored Keys presented folk songs.
Arele Sakhamo shared the status of Tenyidie Learning Centre at GHS Razeba.
Kereivilie Kire, Secretary General of Ura Academy chaired the programme while Daso Paphino, vice president, Ura Academy delivered welcome address.
Earlier, Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, Joint Secretary, Ura Academy led a seminar involving literature boards of Tenyimia communities while keynote address was delivered by Ura Academy Tenyidie Education Division chairman Dr Zavise Rume.
On May 28, the Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo programme will be held from 10 AM.
The concluding day on May 29 will feature Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) conclave, stating 9AM.
During the programme, HSLC and HSSLC Tenyidie subject toppers, HSSLC Music topper and BA Tenyidie topper will be honoured.
Various literary competitions will also be conducted.
The seminar will conclude with a valedictory programme at 4 pm, to be addressed by Tenyimi Union Nagaland President Kekhwengulo Lea and Ura Academy Vice President Daso Paphino.
Ura Academy is primarily a literary society. The Academy is committed to working for preservation and perpetuation of Tenyimia culture in the present Tenyimia society which is undergoing great flux in lifestyle and culture.
