Educators participate in an orientation program on workplace ethics and peace education, organized by Peace Channel in Chümoukedima on March 29.
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MARcH 30 (MExN): Peace Channel organized a one-day orientation program for Peace Club Teacher Animators on Saturday, focusing on workplace ethics, collaboration, and community engagement. The event aimed to equip educators with the skills to foster a professional and ethical learning environment.
The session, moderated by Saziini, began with an invocation by Kashili, a Peace Club Teacher Animator from St. Savio High School. District Coordinator Besa Pou officially opened the event, emphasizing the vital role of teachers in shaping young minds.
Fr. Lawrence Khing, Vice Principal of NEISSR, conducted the first technical session on "Employee and Employer Relationships in a Job Setting." He highlighted key professional attributes such as responsibility, independence, and alignment with institutional values. "Never confuse education with intelligence; you can have a Master’s degree and still be an idiot," he remarked, urging teachers to focus on continuous learning.
The second session, led by Dr. Fr. C. P. Anto, Director of Peace Channel and Principal of NEISSR, underscored the need for teacher collaboration and digital engagement. He also introduced strategies for drug prevention campaigns in schools and communities, advocating for peer mediation and conflict resolution.
The program concluded with a call to action for a drug-free Chümoukedima, encouraging teachers to take an active role in community development. Participants left the event inspired to contribute to a more ethical and peaceful educational setting.
