Peace Channel members from different schools in Mokokchung participated in mass social work Organized by Mokokchung Municipal Council.
Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The Peace Channel members of different schools in Mokokchung participated at the mass social work Organized by Mokokchung Municipal Council on Saturday where 78 Peace Club members from Nivukhu School, Queen Mary Hr. Sec. School, Edith Douglas Hr. Sec. School and Govt. Middle School came forward in the cleanliness programme.
A press note from the Peace Channel Desk informed that the club members started the work at 7:30 am after a prayer by Myingthungo Odyuo (District Coordinator), they started from New Market and continued till 10:30 am up to Dilong Colony.
Odyuo said that it will be a very big learning for the people as lot of bystanders and shopkeepers were observing and appreciating the students picking up even the smallest wrappers in the road. He also said Mokokchung is one of the cleanest and well planned town of Nagaland and urged the students to create Mokokchung Town as one of the best model District of the country itself. Odyuo thanked the MMC for their initiative during the cleanliness drive and also hoped that it would continue the tradition of such activities even in the future.
