Pengchoi Konyak of Eklavya Model Residential School emerged as the champion of the 4th Dorians Society Spelling Bee 2025, held at Kingdom Culture Church Hall, Dimapur on October 18.

Wachum Thonger of Christina Memorial Higher Secondary School secured the second position, while Riya Sharma of Neingullie Memorial High School finished third.

This year’s competition witnessed 25 participants from 13 schools across Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland, representing classes 7 and 8.

The event was judged by Dr Inakali, author and Assistant Professor at St John College, and Imolangla Pongen, former Assistant Professor and now an entrepreneur. The pronouncers for the competition were Patricia Cecilia and Parineeta Debnath.

According to the Dorians Society, the primary objective of the annual spelling contest is to foster healthy competition among students while enhancing their vocabulary and linguistic skills. It also aims to serve as a launch pad for students to compete on bigger stages.
