Peren, July 28 (MEXN): The Office of the District Election Officer (DEO), Peren, has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) will undertake the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in the district as part of the nationwide revision programme. As per the DIPR report, the qualifying date for the revision is 1st October 2026.
As per the notified schedule, preparation, training and printing will be carried out from August 5 to 14, followed by house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from August 16 to 14 September. The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on September 20, while the period for filing claims and objections will continue until October 20. After disposal of claims and objections, the Final Electoral Roll will be published on November 22.
The DEO, Peren, has appealed to all eligible electors in the district to extend full cooperation to BLOs during the house-to-house verification process and ensure that their electoral details are accurate and up to date. Recognised political parties have also been requested to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for every polling station to facilitate a transparent and smooth revision process.
The Special Intensive Revision is aimed at maintaining a clean, accurate and inclusive Electoral Roll, thereby strengthening the integrity of the electoral process through active public participation.
