Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Post Graduate Students’ Union Lumami has appealed to the government to look into the delay in the release of the post matric central scholarship. The Union also appeals to do away with the policy of delaying the PMCS as it has been delayed every year since 2005.
The PGSU (L) in a press release issued by its president Limameren Longkumer and general secretary T. Tohuka Achumi requested the government for immediate release of the scholarship, if the post matric scholarship is meant for the students. The Union also highlighted that the post graduate students of NU are on the verge of the end of formal academic career for the 4th semester students and new semester has started for 2nd semester students.
Further the Union request the government to look into the interest and welfare of the student’s academic and economic condition rather than to the welfare of the student’s bank account as the scholarship for the year 2010 and early 2011 has also not been released to the students concerned. The PGSU (L) also request the government “not to create the psycho of hatred towards opening bank account in the minds of the Naga students as it is of the fact that post matirc central scholarship is delayed because of not being able to fulfill the bank account system in time.”
