Phek DPDB discusses on better banking services

Phek, September 12 (DIPR): The Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on September 12 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Mikha Lomi at the DC’s conference hall.
The board decided to keep the option of opening of any nationalized banks in the district open in the district Hq for prompt and better banking services to the public. For improvement of customer services at the SBI Phek, the matter was forwarded to the district consultative committee meeting which would be held on September 15 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Phek. The above matter was discussed due to some complain which was put up by the public in view of some inconveniences faced by them during transactions from the bank.  A proposal for setting up of an amphitheatre near the Phek sub-jail area for initiating entertainment and other related activities was agreed and accepted in the meeting.
The DC, Mikha Lomi stated that any officer who submits agenda for discussion in the DPDB should be present in the meeting at the time of discussion, otherwise the agenda of the concerned officer will not be taken up for discussion and approval by the board. The department of Fisheries and Social Welfare were directed to present a departmental activities report in the next DPDB meeting.
Earlier, the meeting started with a power point presentation on e-governance which was presented by some officials from the Directorate of Information & Technology, Kohima. The power point presentation was followed by an interaction with the DPDB members on the concept of e-governance and IT related activities which are to be enhanced to all the districts, Administrative Hqs. and blocks in the state.
The Vice Principal Industrial Training Institute (ITI) also gave a departmental activities report of their department.
