DC Rhosietho Ngouri addresses the gathering during the launching programme of Reform Utsav at Middle Khomi in Phek on October 2.
Phek, October 4 (MExN): Reform Utsav, integrated with the People’s Plan Campaign — “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas” — was launched at Middle Khomi under Phek district on October 2, bringing government departments and the local community together to strengthen participatory planning and grassroots development.
The programme was held at the Village Council Hall, Middle Khomi, with Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Rhosietho Ngouri, as the special guest, in the presence of Zhoi Lohe, Project Director, DRDA, Phek.
EAC, Phek headquarters, Er Mechietsho Koza, chaired the programme.
The Reform Utsav aimed to bring development planning closer to the people by providing a platform for direct interaction between the community and various government departments.
Emphasis was laid on identifying local needs and priorities, creating awareness about government schemes and services, and promoting convergence of departmental programmes for effective and inclusive development.
The programme began with an invocation by Nukuyi Tenyi, Pastor, Middle Khomi Baptist Church, followed by a welcome address by Vekhrolo Koza, APO, DRDA, Phek.
Representatives from the District Agriculture Office, District Horticulture Office, DRDA, Chief Medical Office, PHED, Power Department, District Welfare Office, District Programme Office (ICDS), District Land Records and Survey Office and ITI, Phek, made PowerPoint presentations on various government schemes and programmes.
The presentations covered welfare programmes, livelihood opportunities, essential services, skill development initiatives, infrastructure and other development interventions available to the people.
The session also enabled the community to understand the eligibility criteria and procedures for accessing various government programmes.
An interactive session involving Village Council members, community representatives and the public facilitated discussions on local development priorities and possible convergence of departmental schemes to address the needs of the village.
The programme concluded with a tree plantation drive involving the special guest, chairperson, departmental officials, Village Council members and community representatives.
The plantation drive symbolised the collective commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The Reform Utsav at Middle Khomi was aimed at strengthening people's participation, departmental convergence and grassroots-level development planning, with the objective of ensuring that development initiatives remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people.
