Phek town water crisis amicably resolved

Phek Town | September 26 : Following the irregular commissioning of water supply at Phek Town for the last couple of weeks, the Phek District Voluntary Consumer Organization (PDVCO) today clarified that the earlier press allegations being published in some local dailies as “Communication Gap”.
Talking to the Morung Express, PDVCO president Vekhoneyi Venuh, stated that the press statement published in local dailies alleging the PHED for being insincere in performing its assigned task was carried out only because of communication gap between the department and writer was indeed a regrettable aspect, Venuh maintained.
Earlier, Executive Engineer (EE) PHED Phek, Kitoshe Y.Aye, while informing this correspondent that, no official approach for the immediate restoration of damaging “Laka Treatment Plant” pipeline was intimated as far as he was concerned.
Expressing his regret on the inability of timely restoration of the pipelines, Aye further disclosed: "I was alerted when the higher ups called me for the explanation when nothing as such did I expect." Meanwhile, the engineer as part of accepting the situation as positive challenge assured that with the support and good coordination of the public and civil societies in and around Phek Town, it would pursue any kind of work rendering tireless efforts for the welfare of the general public with a special focus for water supply at the town.
The PDVCO president while regretting the unexpected issues being created further conveyed its regret for the past press statements alleging the department and in the meantime urged every like minded people to come forward and joint hands with the department for betterment of the people.
Following the unprecedented problems meted out in regard to the water supply issue, the Village Council Chairman (VCC) Ketsapo, Zachineyi was reported to have personally met EE, PHED Phek and president PDVCO on behalf of the community and tendered its apology for not informing the department for the proposed ongoing work ahead of time leading to the continuous damage of pipeline.
The VCC, Ketsapo informed the former that the Ketsapo village is presently undertaking the road widening work where he said, the Laka pipeline alignment which touches the roadside on various joints got damaged while carrying out the work and henceforth expressed regret for the inconveniences created to the dwellers of the Town.
The PDVCO president while lauding Kitoshe Y.Aye, for recieving the Governor's Medal Award 2011 during the 2011 Independence Day celebration at the state capital, further wished him more success in his upcoming endeavours. "The people of the town should rejoice with the posting of an Award Recipient at the district head quarter whole heartedly," Venuh maintained and urged the entire denizens of the town to maintain cordial relationship with the engineer.
Meanwhile, the PDVCO asserted that Phek Town is being serviced by two water main source viz; “Muchuru Source” donated by Phek Village and “Laka Source” donated by Ketsapo Village. Venuh while urging the entire consumers of the town to be grateful to the donors further made an appeal towards preserving public property.
Appreciating the PHED for maintaining 24 hours service towards restoration of damaged pipelines, the PDVCO praised the deployed field staffs and officers who did a commendable job.
Mention may be made that, the PDVCO further expressed its resentment over the delay in implementation of work by the concerned authority where it stated the recommendation of PDVCO Representation submitted to the DPFB Phek some couple of months back. Hence, it urged the concerned authority to do the needful at the earliest for the interest of the town dwellers. Hoping for the things to be better streamlined, the PDVCO assured to work for the cause of the common people under whatever circumstances.
